Slice Committee reconvenes in the New Year

The New Year has arrived and the Slice Committee is already hard at work. First order of business is a slight modification of our name. We are rebranding the event to be known as Slice of Shoreview Days. Chairperson Jacci Krebsbach and crew are meeting regularly to settle details for this July's event. We'll be posting developments here and on Twitter as they happen.

Steve is also working on the website and application forms are available there for Display Booths, Art Fair Booths and Food Vendors. Just go to www.sliceofshoreview.com and click on Applications at the bottom of the home page.

New Slice of Shoreview website launches

The first part of the new Slice of Shoreview website has launched. The all-new site is being designed and built by Slice Committee member Steve Piper and will include complete information on all aspects of the Slice. We'll keep updating the site with new areas and fun ideas and keep everyone updated on Facebook, Twitter and Blogger.

Slice Committee to take over Slice of Shoreview website

In a meeting last week with Mayor Sandy Martin and City Manager Terry Schwerm, the Slice of Shoreview Committee was granted permission to take over the event's official website at sliceofshoreview.com. The site was originally set up in 1999 by Committee member Steve Piper, who maintained it through 2008. The City took over site design and management in 2009 and has maintained it since then.

The Slice of Shoreview Committee is now in the process of regaining responsibility for the website and should have a new version for the 2012 Slice of Shoreview ready in September.

Slice of Shoreview 2011 Successful Despite Weather

The Slice of Shoreview Committee met at Kozlaks' Royal Oak Restaurant last night for a wrap-up of last weekend's 2011 Slice. All agreed it was very successful - in spite of weather challenges. Unfortunately, the parade was delayed and ultimately cancelled due to heavy weather at the time, and the Saturday fireworks were moved up ahead of another incoming storm. Nevertheless, the remaining events took place as planned and a good time was had by all. Planning now begins for next year's Slice of Shoreview...
